Kholmatvay Shadimetov
DSc Professor
Kh.M. Shadimetov was born on May 5, 1953 in the city of Chimkent. After graduating from the secondary school in 1970, he entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek).
In the formation of Kh.M. Shadimetov as a scientist, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century, Academician S.L. Sobolev, played an important role. After graduating from the university in 1975, Kh.M.Shadimetov began his career in the laboratory "Theory of Approximate Integration" of the Institute of Cybernetics of Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences. In 1977, he entered graduate school, where G.N. Salikhov and Z.Zh.Zhamalov were the supervisors. During his PhD studies, he worked on optimal quadrature formulas in the space of differentiable functions. In 1979, he was sent to complete his postgraduate studies in Novosibirsk, where he continued his scientific research under the guidance of Academician S.L. Sobolev. In 1983 he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Optimal Approximate Integration Formulas for Differentiable Functions".
Kh.M.Shadimetov continued his career at the Institute of Cybernetics of Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences as a researcher and senior researcher. Since 1995, he worked as the head of the "Computational Methods" laboratory of the Institute of Mathematics of Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, and in 2005 he was also elected the head of the "Informatics and Computer Graphics" department of the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers.
Kh.M. Shadimetov is the editor-in-chief of the journal "International Scientific Journal of Computing Technologies and Mathematical Modeling", a member of the editorial boards of the journals: Uzbek Mathematical Journal, Problems of Computational and Applied Mathematics and Bulletin of KRAUNC (Kamchatka Regional Association of Educational and Scientific Center). He was a member of the Mathematics Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
