Dr. Nik Mohd Asri Bin NIK LONG is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He has been in the department since 2001. He obtained his Master Degree (Pure Mathematics) from Leeds University, United Kingdom in 1997, and his Ph.D. (Applied Mathematics) from Manchester University, United Kingdom in 2001. He was Head of Department of Mathematics and Statistics during 2004-2007. His research interest lies in the area of fracture mechanics (especially crack problems in infinite plane, half-plane and bonded two-half-plane). Integral equations are also of his interest. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines and actively contribute to the academic society inside and outside of Malaysia. He has served on many conference and workshop program committees and also be invited as an invited/keynote speaker for several conferences. To date he has published more than 100 research papers in various high reputed journals.
