Shalela Binti Mohd Mahali

Dr. Associate Professor

Shalela Mohd Mahali was born on 28 August 1983 in Pahang, Malaysia. She received her Bachelor of Science (Computational Mathematics) degree from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (formerly KUSTEM) and her MSc degree in Mathematics from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johore, Malaysia. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics in 2012 from the University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia. 

Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer (Assoc. Prof. Dr.) in the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. She has served as the Head of Program for the BSc (Applied Mathematics) since 2022.  Her research interests mainly focus on mathematical modelling for controlled drug delivery. Dedicated to innovation, she developed an app called "DrCal: Drug Release Calculator," for which she has filed a copyright. Her research has been widely published in respected, indexed journals, and she actively collaborates with experts across various fields both domestically and internationally. Beyond her core technical expertise, she holds an additional research interest and profound passion for mathematics education, actively engaging in outreach initiatives to promote mathematical literacy among school children and the general public.
